The Knysna Oyster Festival 2021
For those who have never attended the Knysna Oyster festival in all the years, it’s a yearly event and Knysna and the surroundings come alive with visitors, nature lovers and people wanting a sense of adventure we would like to share some of its history.
The Knysna Oyster Festival has been running since 1983 and used to be called the Knysna winter festival in previous years. This festival falls over 10 days. With the way the world rapidly changed over the past year, it is really great for us to return to some kind of normality and see the positives in the new normal.
People can now come to stay in our area for the full 10 days of the Knysna Oyster Festival. Working remotely has become an integral part of our everyday lives now. Forest Edge does offer WIFI to assist people with making their stay and play visit a breeze so you can be connected while disconnecting from the world for the rest of your stay in nature.
What you can do during the Knysna Oyster Festival:
There is so much great food, music, comedy shows, activities for kids, whale watching, forest tours to enjoy during the 10-day visit to the Knysna Oyster Festival 2021. For the days you don’t feel like doing anything you can lay back kick off your shoes and lay in a hammock and read or just relax in your cabin.

Go on the famous Knysna Pirate Ship for 90min ride 4 departures daily Kids under 12 are free!
There are loads of art to view all over the area. The Knysna Art Society will provide information to those wanting to see some great art during the Knysna Oyster festival 2021.
Come and enjoy the Zipline Experience that runs between Plettenbergbay and Knysna Children aged 8 to 16 is at half price, and the experience is one you wont forget.
Visit the Concordia High School Grounds for delicious food, art, organic products, jumping castles and activities for the kids. This will include stalls, clothing, potjiekos competition, and so much more.
Visit one of the biggest Rastafarian communities in South Africa. You can go on a tour to learn more about them and their way of living.
Visit the Knysna Gin Company for their happy hour. This will happen every day between 4pm and 6pm R40 for all cocktails, during the Knysna Oyster festival 2021.
Love a VW Beetle? On the 10th of July enjoy a day of Beetles! With a display of vintage beetles, artwork, selfie competition and music.
