Fishing along the Garden Route
Fishing is not exactly the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the Garden Route. There is so much to do along the Garden Route there this is something for everyone.
Fishing can be done in quite a few spots in Sedgefield, Wilderness, Mosselbay and Knysna. Fishing Licences are required to angle and are obtainable for sports and hobbies. Licences can be obtained from SANParks Offices at Ebb & Flow Rest Camp or the Post Office among other places.

Blacktail, Karanteen, Galjoen, Kabeljou, Musselcrackers both Black and White, Garrick, Stumpnose, Zebra are among the species that can be caught in our waters, season dependant of course.
Bass Fishing can also be done at Groenvlei Lake Pleasant. There you can find Largemouth Bass, Tilapia, Bluegill and Carp.
Some of the best local Knysna Fishing Spots Include, Aartappleland Fishing Spot, Jaap se Baai, Castle Rock, Sharks Point and Elfs Kraans. Fishing is also permitted on the Knysna Lagoon offering many edible Fish Species like Kob, Steenbras, Leervis, Grunter and Muscle Crackers.

Buffels Bay also offers fishermen ample fishing opportunities with spots like The Slipway, Galjoen Street, Rowwehoek and Barrel Rock.
Wilderness offers both surf and rock fishing and is one of the most pristine and beautiful fishing spots along the Garden Route. Swartvlei, Cola Beach, Gerickes Point, Goukamma Nature Reserve, Victoria Bay Pier, Eilandvlei and Klein Krantz.

For the more adventurist angler at heart, Deep Sea Fishing is also a great option in our beautiful waters.
