Forest Edge Nature Lovers Retreat has networked with so many amazing people in our years of being in the Tourism Industry and the Garden Route Community. With tourism being affected in such a huge way since the arrival of the pandemic, we have decided to feature some of our favourite Attractions and Activities along the Garden Route. All these Attractions and Activities have been tried and tested by ourselves and we are sure that visiting or enjoying any of these will make your visit to Knysna and the Garden Route a memorable and fun one. The Garden Route has so much to offer people from all walks of life, and one of the thing that makes the place we call home so magical. Sirocco Restaurant
Sirocco Restaurant is situated on the water’s edge at Thesen Island in Knysna. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and offers lovely views of the lagoon, while enjoying a delicious meal. All the meals are freshly prepared and plated beautifully. The drinks menu offers some fantastic wine and cocktail options , alcoholic and non-alcoholic .The staff are very attentive and provide a very enjoyable overall dining experience.

Ocean Sailing Charters
Ocean Sailing Charters is family-owned business offering people the opportunity to set sail on the Lagoon and out to sea on either one of their Catamarans or their Cruiser Boat. You can enjoy a glass of bubbly and have a bite to eat while enjoying the beautiful scenery or enjoy supping, fishing, snorkeling depening on the package you book. This Restaurant is very unique and different as it offers such a huge variety of meals from the oysters which they are well known for, to Mexican dishes. The service and ambience is fantastic. This is not all, the restaurant has a well-stocked store that sells sweets and delicacies from around the world, including spices, sauces and condiments alongsite a huge selection of wine and gifting.

Birding in the Garden Route
The Garden Route has a huge variety of vegetation making it one of most amaizing places in South Africa. Tim Carr offers Pelagic tours out to sea, Forest Walks as well as Birding along the Estuaries and the surrounding Mountainous areas. Garden Route Trail Park
If you love mountain biking then this one is for you. The Garden Route Trail Park offers tracks for all skill levels of Mountain Bike Riding. Escape into the Forest and enjoy the Garden Route to the fullest. The Park is nestled at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains and the Karatara river Gorge, between George and Knysna. Knysna Gin Company
Knysna Gin Company is based in the industrial area in Knysna. What makes this Gin so special?
