Forest Edge Reception
The Reception at Forest Edge is right by the entrance to the property. This is where check-ins (from 15:00 – 20:00) and check-outs (from 08:30 – 10:00) take place. There is also a brochure board and additional information over and above the brochures in each cottage, and the information board in the communal fireplace area. This is where guests can ask for special assistance or consumables, extra blankets etc. We really care about our guests having the best possible experience and love to help! Please do keep in mind that we are not a 5-star hotel, however, and work with a small but dedicated team so we are unable to offer tour guide or transport services and our reception-information hours follow normal office hours (emergency assistance remains available 24/7).

** Please note that Forest Edge is predominantly a self-catering resort and although we serve Breakfast & Dinner on our Lily Pond Deck (by prior arrangement), we do NOT have a restaurant and there is no shop on site. There are some great country restaurants nearby, as well as some country stores and a postal agency a few minutes from us. Knysna town, with a host of restaurants and all modern amenities is about 30min drive away.
Staff is on hand to assist during normal office hours with wood, consumables, housekeeping requests, information assistance and general support. Despite the formal check-in and check-out times, we are available BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT AT OUR DISCRETION for check-outs before 08:30 or after 10:00; and check-ins after 20:00 at night, although this will incur a surcharge. We remain available 24/7 for emergencies – unless the emergency is loss of communication networks.
