Hi, from a beautiful Knysna forest
We’re very fortunate in that we’ve only had 1 cancellation to date and it was due to their visa being revoked, as they were traveling from a banned country.
If ever there was a time to get out of the “hustle and bustle” of the city, to come and Socially Disconnect in the Knysna forest, the time is NOW.
And you could not choose a better place than Forest Edge to do it. We only have 6 private, secluded units, nestled against the indigenous Knysna forest. Forest Edge is off the beaten track, away from people, surrounded only by nature and wild life.
Having said all of that, the Health and Safety of our guests are our First Priority, so with immediate effect, we have implemented the following measures:
- Hygiene – we’ve always been super committed to maintaining high hygiene levels (e.g. on Booking.com we have a 9.5/10 rating, with special mention of our “Exceptionally Clean Rooms” as rated by many guests that have stayed here over the years). In addition to our normal procedures we follow, each room will now also be sprayed with a Disinfectant, just before guest arrival. All cottages will also be equipped with anti-bacterial soap.
- Staff – We have a very small compliment of permanent staff (4) that has received comprehensive COVID-19 awareness and prevention training. Our Staff room is fitted with anti-bacterial soap. Staff is transported with our own vehicle, no public transport is used by them. Staff issued with masks – to be worn if any guest request them to do so, when interacting with them. Any staff member showing any signs of the virus will be isolated immediately and will only return to work once cleared by a medical doctor.
- Guest Protocol – All guests will be requested to sanitize their hands upon entry of our facility. No physical contact between staff and guests. Any guest that displays any virus-like symptoms will be isolated immediately and strict protocol, as prescribed by the World Health Organization (WHO) will be followed.
- Food & Beverage Protocol – Lily Pond Deck will remain open for breakfast. All staff will wear surgical gloves and masks while preparing / interacting with any food. Guests from different cottages will be seated more than 1.5m apart.
We hope that these preventative steps will further give you the necessary peace of mind that Forest Edge and its staff are ready to ensure that your well-deserved break will be a magical one.
