"We had a brilliant stay, can't recommend it enough! Highlights were star-gazing (since we live in London now I have not seen so many stars since I was a child!),
getting to know the elephants, fireplace in the livingroom, eating breakfast on the veranda while listening to the sounds of the forest and of course the two friendly donkeys.
Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer and that we didn't get to see a baboon : ) We will definitely be coming back here again and we will be recommending
this place to all our nature-loving friends."

Management response: Yes, Etienne, I agree that House Rules sadly do sound a bit like school rules.
They are a standard feature of the hospitality scene and though completely unnecessary for 99% of our wonderful Forest Edge guests;
they evolved over time due to actual problems experienced. Really to protect our 'good' guests', we like to think they are FOR our guests rather than
TO our guests
-: when the 1% of unsuitable guests are having a rock concert next to your cottage, for example, you'll be glad there are rules we can enforce : -).

"Met ons aankoms het al die liggies in ons huis gebrand - soos ogies wat vir ons gewag het/ons wil binne-nooi.
Of ogies wat wil sien: wie gaan die huisbewoners wees? Dis Winter in die Knysna bos, maar ons is gewapen teen die koue:
die kaggel, n bottel "soet" en my manlief! Vandag 27 jaar gelede is ons op Tulbagh in die Boland getroud.
Ons verken die werf en kom gou agter hies is alles in plek - so netjies. Ons drink koffie op die stoep en
ontvang n mandjie vol organiese groente en kruie. Dit laat ons voel soos eregaste! Geen alarm wat jou wakker maak in die oggend nie!
Die volgende oggen tok-tok iets aan ons kamervenster: meneer en mevrou Suikerbekkie. Asof hulle wil se staan op! Kom kyk!
My wederhelf en sy kamera werk oortyd! n By wat nektar soek met vladderende vlerkies, n spinnekop op n blaar, die weerkaatsing van die
kothuis op die dam... alles word op film vasgele. Sondag-oggend gewaar ons die Knysna Loerie in die bos reg voor ons.
Hy is skaam-skugter. Ons kon die naweek ons gemaksone vol roetine en stres agterlaat en by Forest Edge kom ontspan in
n sirkel "where the magic happens" - n MAKING MEMORY MOMENT gehad; n naweek wat ons nog lank gaan onthou.
Dankie vir die stukkie paradys wat julle hier met soveel sorg bewaar en dat
ons kon deel daarin."

complaints at all. Here are our favourite things and tips: Drupkelders walk - STUNNING! Buffels Bay - superb beach.
Knysna: View from 'The Heads' very special but waterfront a bit touristy for us. Best meal at Cruise Cafe. Natures Valley near Plett for
amazing lagoon for swimming. But the BEST is just being at Forest Edge and enjoying the forest walks and the surrounds. At about 06:15
we saw a Bushbuck and lamb grazing outside the cottage. And do read 'Circles in the Forest' if you have not already. A wonderful 5 days.
